Guys n galls - The guys behind Skabour Festival have asked the Scootring community in SE Kent to support some promotional events for Skabour - Who's up for .....

(1) Saturday 31st July 9am
Rude Boys with braces & Mods with parkas on Scooters required on Saturday morning 9am - 10am in SKAbour harbour.  Needed for a Radio Kent interview for Skabour.  Just to look moody, and rev your scooter. Short piece to microphone from various parties inc bands, scooterists, organisers, venues.

(2) Wednesday 4th - afternoon time tbc
'any chance of doing a loop around the leas/sandgate road to do a drive by Chambers? Chris - the venue owner - will have music playing out on to the street, John's art on the walls and 2 HUGE banners on the lamp posts outside chambers so would be a great photo opp for all concerned.'

(3) Friday 6th August evening
Chris running his regular Portojam Ska night.
He's agreed to open up the coffee shop as a "Skabour VIP" room to help promote the festival - would be fab to have a few scooters parked out side (all welcome to come in to the VIP/coffee shop and create a Folkestone / Bar Italia vibe.
We intend to invite othe venue managers, Creative Foundation people/local business people and press along to show how buy getting behind the event just a little - can deliver a lot of results/exposure/ good will etc . . .

how can you resist it? Would really appreciate it if you could put the word around re: the 6th and help promote the festival.

UPDATE

Just spoken to Chris, the wrong date was given.  Event is not today but 4 September 2010 although rideout not likely to pass Chambers

This Friday, 8pm abouts, Chris would like to see scooters parked outside before Skabour launch party with Portojam.  Coffee shop will be open

To be fair it was teh regular crowd that turned out, it has been busier but Chris (Chambers owner) has messed around with the regular spot and so peeps aren't sure when it's happening. It wasn't arranged as part of the festival but it seems it was felt that it would be a good photo opportunity by the festival organiser and Chris. the festival will no doubt be a blinder, have faith!!  Wink

Mau Spencer, editor of Classic Scooterist Scene, is travelling down on Saturday to photograph the rideout.  He is proposing to take photographs at The Stade before the rideout so if you are coming suggest you arrive about 8.45am?

Hi Guys,

It was good to get down to Kent over last weekend and meet up with a few faces, old and new. All the pictures I took are now up on my Photogallery website which is located at: http://thephotogallery.weebly.com/

If anyone wants any of the digital files, then *email me a list of the ones you want and I'll get them sorted out for you (might be a few emails as they are fairly large) although it might take a day or two for me to get them sorted. If anyone want to order/buy a print, then you'll need to do that via the Photobox website as it's an automated system. The prints have been optimised for a maximum use of A4 size, but if anyone wants a larger copy, let me know and I'll adjust the digital file to suit. (Please note that due to scooter lights shining into the camera lens at various points, some of the pictures may show a slight quality variation)

I've no objection to anyone using the odd picture or two on your own websites, but I would ask that in return, you give the photogallery website a credit, something like this:
"Photos courtesy of the Photogallery (http://thephotogallery.weebly.com/)".

PLEASE FEEL FREE TO PASS FORWARD THIS EMAIL ONTO ANYONE YOU FEEL MIGHT BE INTERESTED, AS I DON'T HAVE AN EMAIL ADDRESS FOR EVERYONE.

A report will appear in Classic Scooterist Scene, but it won't be the next issue, as that is already at the printers.

*It would be best to email directly at home (mauspencer@gmail.com) as that's where the original files are.

Mau
